Il cinema e la televisione

Questo romanzo fu una novità all'epoca a causa della fantascienza dell'autore Verne, fantascienza dimostratasi nient'altro più che proiezione della futura tecnologia novecentesca. Perciò è stato oggetto proprio nel XX secolo dapprima di vari audiolibri e parodie/teatri e poi di cortometraggi, lungometraggi, film e addirittura serie TV, come quella francese del 1970 del regista Jean Bacqué intitolata "Nemo".

Dopo il primo lungometraggio (muto) con regia di Stuart Paton del 1916 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXg_piL5-ZY), il film di maggior successo è stato "20000 leghe sotto i mari" prodotto dalla Walt Disney nel 1954 con regia di Richard Fleischer: l'attore James Mason interpreta il capitano Nemo, mentre Paul Lukas, Peter Lorre e Kirk Douglas i suoi ospiti. E' diventata l'opera precorritrice dello steampunk, filone della narrativa fantascientifica (tecnologia in ambientazione storica).

Seguirono ulteriori rappresentazioni e proiezioni negli anni '70,'90 sino addirittura ad oggi (2007) con un altro film per il circuito direct-to-video a cura del regista Gabriel Bologna.

Verne, science fiction proved nothing more than the projection of future technology twentieth century. So it was proper object in the twentieth century first of various audio and parodies/theater and then short films, feature films and even television series, such as the French director Jean Bacqué in 1970 entitled "Nemo".

After the first feature film (mute) directed by Stuart Paton in 1916 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXg_piL5-ZY), the most successful film was "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" produced by Walt Disney in 1954 and directed by Richard Fleischer: the actor James Mason played Captain Nemo, while Paul Lukas, Peter Lorre and Kirk Douglas his guests. It became the forerunner of steampunk, a genre of narrative fiction (technology in historical setting).
